U14 Boys Volleyball RSAC

Chris Stander

Report:

On Saturday, 14 November the U14 Boys Volleyball A team travelled to BISJ for the RSAC Volleyball warm up tournament. Both team and coach were very confident about the day and we were sure that we were well prepared.

Our first 2 matches saw us up against very strong BISJ teams. Unfortunately things did not go our way and we lost by 4 points in both games. Despite the early losses, the team managed to pick themselves back up and we went on to win the next 7 games comfortably. As the day progressed, the confidence and performance of the team blossomed.

After a very long day of Volleyball, playing 10 matches the boys managed to win 7 games losing only 3, placing the boys in 2nd place overall.

It was a very successful day for the team, and a boost to our confidence. Preparing for the SAIKAC tournament only 2 weeks away, both the team we  are confident that we will be able to secure our school some silverware.

Player of the tournament:  Hazem Gamil

Chris Stander and John Davis Reporting

On Thursday morning the JPGS Wolves departed school at 5:45 am for the U16 Boys Volleyball tournament hosted at KAUST .

Players and coaches were both anxious and excited after a very promising warm up tournament two weeks ago. Our first game of the morning saw us up against old rivals AISJ. The boys put on a strong performance and outplayed and outwitted their opponents beating them by 2 sets to 1. After the victory the boys were confident about their abilities and ready for any challenges that were to be thrown at them. Unfortunately, due to a long rest in between the first and second game the boys lost focus and lost their second game to BISJ B team, placing the 3 schools in a 3 way tie for first place. Our next and final game for the day saw us up against a strong host team (TKS) and unfortunately we were unable to take our opportunities and lost the game by 2 sets to 1.
